Officer Dewees attended the Delaware County Community College Municipal Police Academy where he was named to the Dean’s List for academic excellence. He began his law enforcement career at the City of Chester Police Department in Delaware County, Pa. in 2005 where he served as a Patrolman, Juvenile Crimes Investigator, School Resource Officer and Field Training Officer. In September of 2018, he was promoted to the rank of Patrol Sergeant where he supervised a Patrol Platoon. In February of 2023, he was again promoted this time to the rank of Patrol Captain where he oversaw all operations within the patrol division.

 In November of 2023 he retired from The City of Chester and joined the Southern Chester County Regional Police Department. He is a recipient of many awards and recognitions throughout his career including recognition from the United States Congress for “Outstanding and Invaluable Service to the Community” In his off time, Officer Dewees enjoys fishing, canoeing, and almost anything outdoors.
