Officer Alvarez was born and raised in Jersey City NJ. In 2001, Officer Alvarez moved Chester City, PA where he found his passion for serving his community. In July 2010 Officer Alvarez began his Law enforcement career with the City of Chester PD shortly after graduating from Delaware County Police Academy.
Officer Alvarez served his community as a Patrolman as the Juvenile Crimes Investigator and School Resource Officer for the Chester Upland School District and surrounding Charter schools. He was also a part of the Chester City PD Honor Guard Unit. And was a sworn County Detective for the Delaware County Criminal Investigations Department Child Abuse & Sex Trafficking Task Forcee.
Officer Alvarez primary role as an SRO is to serve as a positive role model for students. He helps walk students through bullying, suicide prevention, gun safety and community Policing. Officer Alvarez is the recipient of 2 Life Saving Awards, “Special Court of Judges of Pennsylvania Award”, US Department of Justice Community Relations award, 2016 Officer of the year award by Law Enforcement Chaplains of Delaware County, 2018 Boy & Girls Club of America Citizens Award & 2018 Civic Advisory Council Law enforcement appreciation award.
In June of 2023 Officer Alvarez left the City of Chester and decided to Continue his career with Southern Chester County Regional Police Department. Officer Alvarez continues to be the School Resource Officer, Community Relations Officer & Patrolman.
