Route 41 Corridor Study

Overview

Starting in late 2022, New Garden Township, in partnership with Londonderry, London Grove, and Kennett Township (with input from Avondale Borough), facilitated a Chester County Planning Commission Vision Partnership Program (VPP) Grant to fund a regional assessment of that section of the Route 41 corridor, with the goal to assess roadway improvements within each municipality.

At the July 7, 2024, Board of Supervisors public meeting, the VPP project's transportation engineer, Bowman Engineering, provided a study presentation that captured input from each municipality and the community, and the final report was delivered to the Township in early 2025.

This study is crucial in engaging PennDOT and local legislators to secure state and regional grant funding investments to address the ongoing issues along the Route 41 corridor, both within and beyond New Garden Township's municipal boundary.
