Public Safety Commission


Overview

The Southern Chester County Regional Public Safety Commission is comprised of three members from the elected body (Township Supervisor and/or Borough Mayor or Councilperson) from each representative community; New Garden Township and West Grove Borough. Two of the Commissioners, from either community, serve a two-year term and the other serves a one-year term. The community that holds the chair position must be a two-year term commissioner and they are the sole representative from their respective community. In addition, the Chairperson's Manager serves as a liaison between the Commission and the Police Chief.

The Southern Chester County Regional Public Safety Commission serves as the civilian authority and oversight of the police department. The Commissioners ensure that the mission, budget, policy, and personnel standards are achieved.
