Lt. Joseph F. Greenwalt’s Biography

Since the inception of the regional police department in January of 2017, Lt. Greenwalt has been serving on the Chief’s Command Staff and overseen many projects and tasks on the Management Team.  We are pleased to make his rank and title equal to the outstanding service he has performed for the Regional Police Department and our communities.

Lt. Greenwalt has been with the department for over 11 years and has played a major role in the development and change of the organization’s culture.  With nearly 20 years of law enforcement experience beginning in Delaware County, Lt. Greenwalt is a motivational and inspiring leader.  In 2014, Lt. Greenwalt was recognized for his leadership for being an agent of positive change and thus awarded the Gerald W. Davis Award.  Lt. Greenwalt is a 2017 graduate of the Command & Leadership Academy; he will remain in command of the Patrol Division.  Additionally, Lt. Greenwalt has been appointed as our manager for the Office of Accreditation, which will lead us into using the “best practices” and thus becoming an accredited law enforcement agency.
