As many of you know, our Township Manager, Tony Scheivert, has taken a position with another Township in Chester County. Today is his last day as Township Manager of New Garden Township.
Tony has had a special impact on New Garden Township and its residents. He brought transparency and created a friendly, reliable place for staff and residents to bring their concerns.
Tony has led the Township team on numerous advancements in our community, to name a few: merge police departments into a regional police force and building a state-of-the-art facility to house them; critical road and bridge improvements; economic growth at the New Garden Airport; improving waterway projects; conserving open space, including ensuring St. Anthony’s in the Hills property be forever preserved; expanding New Garden Park and developing successful park event opportunities; a sewer sale negotiation; finding solutions to phorid fly infestations; fiscally responsible budgeting and many more initiatives that benefit the community. He has been a large part of progressive projects and solutions to local government issues in New Garden Township.
We send Tony off with well wishes and fond memories in our hearts, knowing that he won’t be too far away! From all of us at New Garden, Tony certainly will be missed.
Township Supervisors are in the process of interviewing candidates to fill his position. This process could take a few months and, in the meantime, Interim Manager, Spencer Andress will address day to day issues. Mr. Andress may be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or 610-268-2915.
