46th ANNUAL AIR & CAR SHOW and 2nd ANNUAL RUN & WALK THE RUNWAY

This weekend is a BIG weekend at New Garden Airport at the 46th Annual Air and Car Show.

Start with pancake breakfast on Saturday or Sunday with EAA 240.  Enjoy vendors, wander through antique and performer planes while enjoying great food, beverages and flight displays throughout the day.

On Sunday, run or walk the Runway 5K and 1 mile walk.  Included in your registration is pancake breakfast with EAA and a day at the Air and Car Show.  Top winners receive $100 cash prize.  Proceeds benefit local youth programs through New Garden Parks & Recreation, Future Aviators and KAPRB.

Camp out at the Airport on Saturday night with the EAA Jamboree.  Includes free flight, BBQ dinner, camping, movie, activities, breakfast and the Airshow.

Also this weekend, Saturday, Aug. 19th, 11am-2pm, at the Avondale Firehouse. Drive by and pick up a delicious ½ grilled chicken, bag of chips, drink, cookie and a smile! Tickets can be purchased here.

OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY- VIGIL

Thursday, Aug. 31 at 5:30pm. Overdose Awareness Day has been a key remembrance event for those who have died from fatal drug overdoses since 2001. On August 31 thousands of people worldwide will stand alongside the friends and families of fatal overdose victims to reflect on those who have been lost.
Join Us! The event is organized on the understanding that no-one need feel shame or disgrace over a drug overdose.
