Chescobus News

What's New on CHESCOBUS...

CHESCOBUS is Chester County’s Public Transportation System comprised of SCCOOT and Coatesville LINK. The bus service is managed by the Transportation Management Association of Chester County (TMACC). CHESCOBUS is funded by the PA Department of Transportation with support of the Chester County Commissioners and municipal partners.

What's a Flag Stop?

A flag stop is a service where passengers can flag down a bus at any safe location along the route rather than at designated bus stops. To use a flag stop, you should:

  • First, look at the schedule to see where a flag stop could be between the regular bus stops and be there at least five (5) minutes before you expect to be picked up.
  • Second, stand at a safe location where the bus can pull of out traffic.
  • Third, make an obvious motion, such as waving your arms to catch the bus drivers' attention as soon as you see the bus approaching. Keep in mind that the bus driver is looking ahead as s/he drives so don't wait until the bus is where you are waiting.
  • Fourth, wait until the bus is completely still, then hop on and pay your fare.
  • Need to get off at a flag stop? Tell the driver when you board so they know where to drop you off.
