New Garden Township Park is located in Avondale near the intersection of Route 41 and Newark Road. The park was established in 1997 and has been steadily growing in size and activity ever since. Patrons can enjoy a large playground, walking paths and fitness centers as well as baseball and soccer fields, and beach volleyball courts. It boasts several gazebos from which to watch the action or just take in the Southern Chester County quiet. There are designated bike and roller blading trails as well. Two pavilions with electricity and grills may be reserved for $60.00 to house family reunions, parties, and other occasions. Call Kati at 610-268-2915 to reserve your pavilion.
Be sure to attend the park events offered by the Parks and Recreation Committee. In spring, summer, and autumn you will find an event schedule that includes concerts in the park, a community yard sale, a charity 5K run, Tuesday Family Fun Night, Yoga in the Park, Pilates Classes and an Antique Car Show, plus many more activities. Labor Day weekend fireworks are also planned at the park..
We have a new building! Those of you who attended camps were introduced to our new Parks and Recreation building in the middle of the park. We are pleased to utilize the historic home located at the top of the park between the two parking lots. As this building is structurally and cosmetically spruced up, we hope to be hosting many more events here.
If you are interested in summer camps, don't hesitate to contact Barb for information on science and sports camps coming this summer. If you have any ideas or requests, let us know. Volunteers to teach classes are also welcome!
The restrooms at the Park will be closed from November 2007 to March 15 2008. The restrooms will be opened for New Garden Sponsored events.

We will be continuing Tuesday Family Nights, Friday Night Concerts, summer camps in the park, Spring & Fall Yard Sales, Fireworks, Car Show, Fall Activities and adding NEW GARDEN DAY!!!
