Where do I go to vote? Go to www.chesco.org/election/polling.htm for information on your polling place.

 

Are dog lisences required by the township? No, but they are required by the county. You may pick up an application at the township office, and submit it to Chester County.

When do I need a building permit? When constructing a new residential or commercial building. In addition, decks, pools, additions (to existing structures), garages, alterations and repairs all require building permits. For more informationand/or details contact Don Suckstorf at 610-268-2915.

How do I schedule an inspection? Contact Ed Ginder 800-732-2551.

Whom do I call with questions regarding my EIT, Amusement, and Emergency taxes? Berkheimer Associates 610-363-7214

Whom do I call with questions regarding my Property taxes? The township tax collector, Joseph Bohnert at 610-274-8669.

Whom do I call with questions regarding my sewer bill? The township sewer clerk, Joanne Hafner 610-268-2915.

Whom do I call with questions on school taxes? Kennett School District at 610- 444-6605.

Where can I dispose of waste materials? For hazardous waste disposal information, please contact the Chester County Solid waste Department at: 610-273-3771

What about recycling ? Contact your waste hauler to start recycling.

When is the next Household Hazardous Waste Collection in the Township? 2008 collection date is Saturday September 13th, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Do I call the Township when I see a stray dog or cat or a domesticated animal in danger? No. Please contact the Chester County SPCA at 610-692-6113

What should I do if I see a menacing wild animal or an animal in danger? Contact the Game Commission: 877-877-9470 or 610-926-3136

Should I contact anyone when planning to dig or excavate on my property? Call 1-800-242-1776 to notify the PA One Call System so they may have respective companies mark underground lines. Without this notification, you could be liable for damages you cause to utility services.

How often should maintenance be performed on my on-site sewage system? Residents of New Garden Township with on-site septic are required to pump their systems once every three years and offer proof (a receipt is acceptable) to the township administrative office.
